Prepare the Ground Before You Build on It
Whether you are starting a garden, reseeding a rough area, reclaiming neglected ground, or preparing for landscaping, the condition of the soil can make a major difference in the success of the project.
D.A.D.S. Disposal provides tilling and ground preparation for residential, rural, recreational, and investment properties throughout West Michigan.
Our goal is to help create a more workable surface so the next phase of your project can begin on better footing.
Common Tilling & Ground Preparation Projects
Garden Preparation
Break up compacted or established soil before planting vegetables, flowers, or other garden areas.
Reseeding & Lawn Repair
Prepare rough, bare, or disturbed ground before reseeding grass or restoring lawn areas.
Landscape Preparation
Create a workable base before planting, landscape cleanup, or other outdoor improvement projects.
Reclaiming Neglected Ground
Prepare areas that have been unused, overgrown, compacted, or difficult to work with after long-term neglect.
Post-Cleanup Property Preparation
Once junk, brush, debris, or unwanted materials have been removed, ground preparation can help move the property toward its next use.

Some Areas Need Cleanup Before Tilling
Tilling works best when the project area is reasonably clear of large debris, heavy brush, wire, large roots, rocks, stumps, and other obstacles that could interfere with equipment.
If the area is heavily overgrown or still contains junk, fallen limbs, or other materials, D.A.D.S. may be able to help with the cleanup first.
Brush Hogging
Cut back tall grass, weeds, and heavy vegetation before preparing larger areas of ground.
Brush & Overgrowth Cleanup
Remove targeted brush and vegetation from areas that need more detailed clearing.
Junk & Debris Removal
Clear unwanted items and approved property debris before ground preparation begins.
How Ground Preparation Projects Start
1. Show Us the Area
Send your city or ZIP code, photos of the project area, approximate dimensions, and what you plan to use the ground for.
2. We Review the Conditions
We consider soil, vegetation, slope, moisture, access, obstacles, project size, and the type of preparation needed.
3. Prepare the Ground
If the project is a fit, we complete the agreed tilling or preparation work so the area is better suited for the next step.
Is Water Part of the Problem?
If the area stays wet, collects standing water, or receives heavy runoff, tilling alone may not solve the underlying issue.
In those cases, drainage and water movement should be evaluated as part of the larger property plan before investing in reseeding or landscaping.
